Ways to Help

Help a Charity

This webpage is run by a research group, not a domestic violence shelter. But there are many domestic violence shelters and charities in Scotland (and the rest of the UK) that need your help. Most of these organizations take both donations and volunteers.

Women’s Aid is the biggest domestic violence organization in the UK. They primarily serve women fleeing abuse.

Rise is a service for all people fleeing abuse. They primarily serve LGBTQ+ individuals.

Galop is a service for all people fleeing abuse. They primarily serve LGBTQ+ individuals.

Survivors UK is a service focused on men who have survived sexual assault or violence.

ManKind Initiative is a service for men fleeing abuse.

Respect is an organization dedicated to ending domestic violence by working with perpetrators.
